Busy on Oct. 26? Vote early in Burlington’s 2026 municipal election – online or at an advance poll

There are plenty of ways to vote in Burlington’s upcoming municipal election. Choose the option that works for you.

Online Voting

Online voting opens at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14 and closes at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct 23.

• To vote online, you will need your Voter Information Letter (VIL). These letters are mailed to all eligible voters on the Voters’ List in late September.
• The VIL includes a Voter Registration Number and instructions for completing the online voting process, including a link to the online voting website.
• As part of the process, you will be required to complete a two-step verification using your email address or mobile phone number to receive your voting PIN. 
• The deadline to register for a voting PIN is 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 23.
• If you plan to vote online and you haven’t received your VIL by Oct. 9, contact the Election Team at 905-335-7777, ext. 8683. If you aren’t on the Voters’ List, you may be required to complete a form to be added to the List.
• To check if you are on the Voters’ List, visit myvoteburlington.ca.

Advance Polls

In-person advance voting is available at three locations across the city on Oct. 17 and 20. Eligible voters can vote at any one of the advance voting locations. Please bring your VIL and one piece of identification showing your name and address. Visit myvoteburlington.ca to see a list of accepted forms of identification.

Dates and times:

• Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Advance Poll locations:

• Burlington Seniors' Centre, 2285 New St.
• Skyway Community Centre and Park, 129 Kenwood Ave.
• Tansley Woods Community Centre, 1996 Itabashi Way

If you plan to vote in person and haven’t received your Voter Information Letter (VIL), please check to make sure you are on the Voters’ List at myvoteburlington.ca. Updates and additions to the Voters’ List can be made in person at any branch of the Burlington Public Library, the Service Burlington counter at City Hall (426 Brant St.), or at an advance voting or Voting Day location.

To vote in Burlington’s municipal election, voters must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old, living in Burlington, or not living in Burlington but they or their spouse own or rent property in Burlington.
